MediaCaption This component can be used with images or videos or files or events. A media caption is text that accompanies visual content (photos, videos) to provide context, description, or dialogue, serving as either an explanation for an image or a synchronized transcription of audio for videos.
  • Use Cases: Event enables users to preview upcoming events through a dedicated card format. Each card displays event details including date, time, location and image
  • Dependencies
    • None required. The Event is fully self-contained and does not rely on child items or external data sources.
  • Layout Types: Normal and Compact
Creating an Event
  1. In Content Editor, create a "Event Media Folder" under the "_datasources" of your page
  2. Create a new Event Media item from the Event Media template.
  3. Fill in the required fields
    • Title
    • Location
    • Date
      • Image is required in order to display the Event in the normal (default) format; Image is not required in the compact mode
  4. Fill in optional fields: Background Image, Gradient Type, Tags, etc
  5. In Experience Editor, insert the Event rendering into the awt-media placeholder of a Media Caption item.
    • The Event must be placed in a Media Caption so it can be displayed
  6. Associate the Event Media item as the data source.
  • Normal: (Default state) Normal size; display images
  • Event Card Compact: Option to display the event in a compact way, without image; No images are displayed
  • There are currently no known issues with this component
